Mercedes SLR Stirling Moss Edition.

When Mercedes broke the news that they were parting ways with Britain’s sports car mad scientist coalition McLaren, they also announced that they would be releasing one more car under the famed partnership: a special, limited edition, strictly performance oriented model of the SLR. That model turned out to the be the McLaren SLR Stirling Moss Edition, which, according to Mercedes, is going to be unveiled at January’s Detroit Auto Show.
According the spec sheet, the topless two-seater'named after legendary British Formula One champ Stirling Moss'seems to be a beast. It will feature a full carbon fiber body draped over the original chassis that will be powered by a 650hp supercharged 5.5 liter V8 with the five speed automatic transmission from the SLR 722. And don’t think the lack of a roof will make it any less capable on the track'the Stirling Moss edition will hit a top speed of 217 mph and hit 62mph in 3.5. There’s only going to be 75 of these made, each priced at around $1.2 million. Yeah, it’s out of our league too. Check out the photos below and keep dreaming…
